NEW YORK (Reuters).  In an expected and long-awaited move today, the
gay and lesbian community officialy excommunicated Reid Fishler (aka
"redbird"), declaring him _vitandi_ status, and ordered never to speak
to another homosexual again.

 "This is a great day for our people," exclaimed G&L spokesperson Erik
Katenoub, in a press conference this afternoon.  "The separation of
reid from Our Community has been long in the works, and we hope that
this will vindicate us, and start us on the path to social recovery."

 This is the second official excommunication of a gay person in
history, only second to Linus Torvalds' dramatic separation in 1994.
Fishler was unavailable for comment.
