It's theoretically possible for leap seconds to be introduced at the end of March and September.
As I recall, NTP supports leap seconds every month, for which there is a prediction that even this would be insufficient at some point in this millennium (depending, of course, on the actual rotation speed). There have been on again/off again talks to abolish the leap second for quite a number of years. Gary
