I have no idea what Cisco equipment Elmar is using, but I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that it can't withdraw routes when needed.
We use scripts external to both the routing platform and the service delivery platform to check the service and reconfigure L3 equipment (which is all kinds of L3 capable hardware). Elmar.
