I absolutely pounded the crap out of 50 HP's that were correctly patched and could never duplicate the problem of inetd hanging. The only other times I have seen it on HP's is when this patch is not installed (I've tried to make sure this is installed Site-wide) and/or an ancient OS such as snt-view which is running HP-UX9.07! ;-)
A couple of quick notes: PHNE_16832 is for 10.20. If you're running 11.0 it probably won't hurt to install PHNE_17027. Also, you can now get HP's syslogd to not listen on the network: 10.20 see PHCO_21022 11.0 see PHCO_21023 look for the -N option.
