This is one of those things I would gladly accept a patch for :). As you are well aware, extending Nmap to IPv6 would be decidedly non-trivial due to the heavy use of raw packet structure manipulations. It is on my "TODO" list, but there are other cool enhancements above it. Frankly, user demand has been minimal. In fact, Darren, I think you are the first to have ever requested it :).
