First ever Nmap-Hackers User Survey

I have written a survey to get an idea of how people use Nmap and what
features are desired the most. It is short and easy and can be found at
http://amy.insecure.org/nmap/nmap_survey.html . Results will be posted to
the nmap-hackers list once we have collected enough and analyzed them.

I am particularly looking forward to the results of the "favorite security
tools" section. Thousands of tools are available, but it is often hard to
pick out the quality ones from all the junk out there. This gives you a
chance to list 5 tools you have found to be outstanding. You are
especially encouraged to include tools that aren't so well know but that
perform a useful function very well. Results will of course be posted for
everyone to benefit from your tool picking skills. As a member of the
nmap list, you obviously have good taste in security tools :). And if the
tools is so obscure that it is hard to find with search engines, etc.,
please provide a URL in the comment section.

Our goal is to get 2,000 responses from just this list. If we manage
that, I probably won't even bother offering the survey from the Nmap web
page. After all, the fact that you guys subscribed to the list shows you
are more hardcore about security tools than the average web surfer.

The survey is anonymous and I don't think it is particularly intrusive.

Once again, that URL is:

Remember, this is your chance to vote for the features you want to see in
Nmap! Those that are not popular will probably not be implemented.

Cheers,
Fyodor
