Hello, I've released version 0.54 of nPulse, a secure, web-based, network monitoring tool that uses NMAP as its core network engine. It is available for a free download at http://freshmeat.net/projects/npulse/ Thanks to everyone who used, tested, and made suggestions on each of the pre-releases! This version bundles together all of the changes in the pre-releases of nPulse since version 0.52. The primary updates are better EventLog handling, and a major bug fix of the historical record-keeping and historical display graphics. Internally, the code has been substantially rewritten (except autorecheck.pl). In total there are 5 new features, 1 deleted feature (no more DEMO mode), 5 bug fixes, and 4 miscellaneous changes. Also of note: nPulse uses CGI.pm. There is an alpha version of CGI.pm (3.02) at some of the CPAN archive sites. The alpha version does not work properly with nPulse! The best version is 2.753 which can be downloaded from the CPAN sites. Also, some of the recent RedHat Linux distributions come with an old version of Perl :( It's best to use Perl 5.6.1 with the RedHat systems. You can view the entire change log at http://www.horsburgh.com/h_npulse.html. As always, I continue to look for comments, suggestions, and feedback!
