Back from Europe; Nmap in 3rd Movie

Hello everyone. I just returned from Europe and have resumed Nmap
development. It was an exciting trip that involved everything from
speaking at IT-Defense in Ludwigsburg, skiing outside Zurich, spending
several days at the Louvre in Paris, and getting beat up by street
thugs in Amsterdam. I also had the pleasure of meeting dozens of you
in cities all over the region. I only wish I could have stayed long
enough to visit Crete, Cyprus, Prague, Berlin, Bulgaria, and other
cities people wrote to me from. A bunch of people seriously stretched
the definition of "Europe trip" by inviting me to Argentina and Chile
:). I'm flattered, even though I couldn't make such a diversion.

One thing I learned during the trip is that Nmap has found its way
into a third movie! Nmap source was shown in Battle Royale in 2000,
and I sort of recall it being featured in some sci-fi film last summer
:). But Nmap also made its way into a new porn genre: UNIX hacker
pr0n! A friend in Amsterdam gave me a DVD titled "HaXXXors Vol. 1: No
Longer Floppy," which includes scenes such as "Naked Dumpster Diving"
and "Fun with Nmap". In the latter, the lovely E-Lita walks us
through downloading, compiling, and executing Nmap while she keeps our
attention by methodically removing her clothing :). The HaXXXors gave
me permission to post screenshots and even videos of the whole Nmap
chapter:

I found it amusing, anyway :). That page itself is work-safe, but
some of the links aren't. Please don't visit if you are offended by
this sort of material.

In other news, I have had very few problem reports with Nmap 3.50. I
would recommend upgrading to this version. I have also made
substantial progress on the Nmap book, and will post the first
chapters shortly.

Cheers,
Fyodor
