Hello, all -

Since writing "Secrets of Network Cartography: A Comprehensive Guide to
Nmap" over a year ago, I've spoken with many of you at trade shows and
security seminars regarding what you'd like to see in Nmap educational
materials. Based on your feedback, I'm now ready to introduce something
the Nmap community hasn't seen before; an on-demand Nmap training course
that teaches some of the most popular and useful Nmap capabilities.

This isn't a simple online training movie. We've created a training
system that provides lecture information, screencasts, and even
searchable transcripts of every word in the course. The course doesn't
go "live" until Wednesday, but you can watch a sample of the content here:

Even though "Nmap Secrets" isn't available until Wednesday, we're
already planning some additional events that won't require anything but
your time and your desktop.

On Thursday, February 22nd at 8pm Eastern Standard Time, I'm hosting an
Nmap training webinar that will be open to anyone who'd like to attend,
at no charge. I'm planning to provide a solid hour of Nmap training,
including demonstrations of the newest Nmap features, an overview of
some third-party tools that integrate with Nmap, and a demonstration of
how you can use Nmap to help secure the vulnerabilities seen this past
week with Cisco IDS systems and Solaris telnet servers.

Because of the large amount of interest we've received about the
webinar, we've increased the total number of seats and dial-in lines to
help accommodate everyone. However, there are only a limited number of
lines. To get on the list, just register at this link:

If this webinar is well attended, I'm hoping to host some additional
open webinars on other Nmap topics!
