I'm running the latest release of nmap on my freebsd 4.3 compaq proliant. On certain remote hosts when i run the vanill nmap nmap x.x.x.x i get Starting nmap V. 2.54BETA29 ( www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) No tcp, udp, or ICMP scantype specified, assuming vanilla tcp connect() scan. Use -sP if you really don't want to portscan (and just want to see what hosts are up). Host blah (balhblahblah) appears to be up ... good. Initiating Connect() Scan against blah (x.y.z.w) Strange SO_ERROR from connection to blah (52) -- bailing scan: Operation now in progress Adding open port 3455/tcp Strange SO_ERROR from connection to blah (52) -- bailing scan: Operation now in progress Adding open port 3986/tcp Strange SO_ERROR from connection to blah (52) -- bailing scan: Operation now in progress Adding open port 7597/tcp Strange SO_ERROR from connection to blah (52) -- bailing scan: Operation now in progress and so until all services are checked. The results of course are false because ALL ports are reported open. Does anyone know how to fix this? Only real bit of info found is in /usr/include> more errno.h #define ENETRESET 52 /* Network dropped connection on reset */ Thanks __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
