nmap CPU usage with slow scans

I apologize if this is the wrong list for a question like this one. Is there any way to reduce the CPU usage while nmap is doing a slow scan? When set to -T0 for example, nmap uses 99% cpu on the linux and sparc solaris machines I've tested it on. Is this stupid user syndrome, or a bug in nmap? thanx. --------------------------------------------------------------------- For help using this (nmap-dev) mailing list, send a blank email to nmap-dev-help () insecure org .
