Update on Nmap Suse 9.0 problem

Here is an interesting update from Richard Moore on the problems with Nmap on Suse 9.0. Apparently a workaround is to set HAVE_IP_IP_SUM in nbase/nbase_config.h in the source tree to zero after you run ./configure but before "make". Hopefully a better solution allowing Nmap to automatically detect and work around the issue will become available. ----- Forwarded message from Richard Moore <rich () westpoint ltd uk> ----- Date: Tue, 09 Dec 2003 11:57:25 +0000 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax) From: Richard Moore <rich () westpoint ltd uk> To: Fyodor <fyodor () insecure org> Subject: nmap on suse 9.0 I and Dirk Mueller have made some progress on this. If you set HAS_IP_IP_SUM to 0 then nmap works fine. This sounds like a bad patch has been applied to the suse kernel.
