I'm afraid I've found a bug in 3.92 (build on SuSE 9.0 i386): If I run nmap without P0 it works: fester:/home/rich/nmap-3.92 # ./nmap --send_ip risk Starting nmap 3.92 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2005-09-12 11:02 BST Interesting ports on risk.westpoint.ltd.uk (192.168.3.52): (The 1660 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: closed) PORT STATE SERVICE 80/tcp open http 81/tcp open hosts2-ns 135/tcp open msrpc 139/tcp open netbios-ssn 445/tcp open microsoft-ds 5101/tcp open admdog 8080/tcp open http-proxy 8888/tcp open sun-answerbook MAC Address: 00:01:03:31:10:78 (3com) Nmap finished: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 1.739 seconds But if I try with P0: fester:/home/rich/nmap-3.92 # ./nmap -P0 --send_ip risk Starting nmap 3.92 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2005-09-12 11:01 BST Note: Host seems down. If it is really up, but blocking our ping probes, try -P0 Nmap finished: 1 IP address (0 hosts up) scanned in 0.026 seconds Cheers Rich. -- Richard Moore, Principal Software Engineer, Westpoint Ltd, Albion Wharf, 19 Albion Street, Manchester, M1 5LN, England Tel: +44 161 237 1028 Fax: +44 161 237 1031 _______________________________________________ Sent through the nmap-dev mailing list http://cgi.insecure.org/mailman/listinfo/nmap-dev
