This might help as well: -n (No DNS resolution) Tells Nmap to never do reverse DNS resolution on the active IP addresses it finds. Since DNS is often slow, this speeds things up. On 3/21/06, Ron <iago () valhallalegends com> wrote:
What command are you using to start Nmap? Since you don't have a DNS server, then you obviously cannot specify the other host by DNS name.
