Re: Nmap 4.60 released

I have a little over 300 in-line network IPS appliances at
geographically dispersed locations.

Often, there are "My Internets are slow" problems from one of these locations.

I used to monitor the locations with smokeping, but the ping times
showed no problems at all.

Now I can use nmap -sQ with a few choice ports to see what is being
slowed down by the content inspection engine of the NIPS.

It's quite handy and helps focus my troubleshooting.

Are many people here using qscan? Maybe we should integrate it into
Nmap proper. Can people here reply with descriptions of how they most
 commonly use it?

 Thanks,
