nmap path problem

I'm new to this list so forgive me for any miscues.

I've been using nmap for several years. Thanks for a fantastic product!
My problem is with the win32 nmap 4.52. I installed everything and specified a custom path. The install seemed to go
smoothly. I can run nmap from the command line from it's own folder using either nmap or nmap.exe and it works fine. I
can also run nmap.exe from any folder and it works...however, when I run nmap from outside it's own folder, I get the
following error: "The system cannot find the path specified". I checked the path option in the installer and my path
command shows the following:

c:\nmap452\>path

PATH=C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio
Shared\DLLShared;C:\Program
Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\;C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;c:\nmap452;c:\nmap452\Nmap

c:\>nmap

The system cannot find the path specified
c:\>nmap.exe
<nmap help is displayed as normal>

This is on Windows XP Professional using nmap 4.52 for windows with zenmap also installed.
As a side-effect of this problem, zenmap won't scan anything. It returns the same error even if I specify the full path
or the .exe in it's command line.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks again for all your work!

Aaron
