Current status of firewalk

Hi,
Firewalk by Mike Schiffman hasn't been updated since 2003 and no one
mentioned its name in nmap-dev since 2005. Am I the only one still using it
or are you guys out there still using it? If it doesn't have a better
alternative I think Nmap can adopt and improve this useful tool(just like
ncat). Maybe a few enhancement, integrating with Zenmap etc. Any
suggestions?
