I have been using nmap from few months. But I'm not a nmap expert. I have some ideas that can make nmap better 1. Integrating a script editor on nmap. So nmap users can edit existing scripts and easy to write new scripts. I like to have the script editor like Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/) interface with colored keywords and other coding friendly features.
We at Umit Project already have a solution for that which is the NSE Facilitator, that has even features to automatically download and install plugins, has sintax highligh and other nice features for code edition. Unfortunatelly, it doesn't feature the current version, but you can find it at our repository. Also, we're planning to release it as a Umit plugin, which will allow it to be installed in the current version of Umit easily.
