Hi All. I'm happy to report some good news in the mission to make Nmap accessible to people worldwide. First of all, Open Source Press has just released their German translation of Nmap Network Scanning! I worked closely with Dinu Gherman who did the actual translating, and Dr. Markus Wirtz who runs things there and took a great interest in the book. It is currently featured on their front page at https://www.opensourcepress.de/ and the detail page for Nmap Netzwerke Scannen, Analysieren und Absichern is at: https://www.opensourcepress.de/index.php?26&backPID=178&tt_products=270 Even though I can't read German (and my copies haven't arrived to the U.S. yet anyway), I have great confidence from my interactions with Dinu and Markus that they did a superb job and created a very faithful translation. In addition, Open Source Press generously contributed their translation of the Nmap Reference Guide so that we could post it free online. We've been desperately needing such a translation for years! You can read it here: http://nmap.org/man/de/ I'm also happy to announce another new Nmap Reference Guide translation: Indonesian by Tedi Heriyanto. Here it is: http://nmap.org/man/id/ We now have the Nmap Reference Guide in 16 languages! You can see them all here (I added national flags this morning): http://nmap.org/docs.html While 16 languages is great, we're always looking for new translations! If you speak a language other than those 16 (or think an existing translation needs to be updated/improved) and would like to help, let me know! Here are the translation instructions: http://nmap.org/xlate-faq.html We're also always on the lookout for translators for the Zenmap frontend. This is a substantially easier job than translating the whole reference guide. And so far, we only have translations to German, French, Hungarian, and Brazilian Portuguese. If you'd like to add your native language, see: http://nmap.org/book/zenmap-lang.html Cheers, Fyodor _______________________________________________ Sent through the nmap-dev mailing list http://cgi.insecure.org/mailman/listinfo/nmap-dev Archived at http://SecLists.Org
