Hi Fyodor, Thanks for your suggestion. I am going through the archives for a potential script idea that I can implement. On Fri, Mar 26, 2010 at 6:39 AM, Fyodor <fyodor () insecure org> wrote:

If I want to apply as script developer for Google summer of code how can I guess what might be the need of users. Is thereanyspecific way to do find out what script user is in need??Hi Kirubakaran. We already have some ideas on the Nmap TODO list, and we can solicit more on the nmap-dev mailing list. But the ideal candidates will be experienced enough in networking/nmap/security that they can identify needs themselves and implement scripts to solve them. We'll also have weekly NSE meetings on IRC where we'll brainstorm script and infrastructure ideas to implement in the coming week. We won't be thinking up all the scripts in advance, but taking things one week at a time. Still, if you have any clever script ideas, describe them in your SoC application to increase your acceptance chances! And if you actually write any useful scripts (rather than just describing the idea) in time for your application, tht is an even bigger plus. Cheers, Fyodor
