Tentative idea:

I know you're keen to get LPeg in NSE. In order to ease its acceptance,
could its first use be something less complex than an LPeg
meta-generator? An esoteric use is going to turn people off. There has
to be a simpler solution.

This is indeed a complicated use of LPeg. I wouldn't try to use it as
a way to get LPeg accepted. I'm just writing this idea down so it
isn't forgotten.
