Thanks, I assumed that was a response I might get. Where can I find the RPM (Oracle Linux does not yet provide that version)? -----Original Message----- From: David Fifield [mailto:david () bamsoftware com] Sent: Friday, February 22, 2013 10:17 AM To: Joe Tavares Cc: dev () nmap org Subject: Re: nmap 5.51 on Oracle Linux (and other systems) reports AIX 6.1 LPAR as Cisco 7912G VOIP Handset On Thu, Feb 21, 2013 at 02:39:53PM -0800, Joe Tavares wrote:
Ran into a problem running an IBM product called TADDM which uses a runtime nmap. Independently tested on a linux box (Oracle Linux) to the same server address and found nmap consistently reports the IBM AIX 6.1 LPAR as a Cisco 7912G VOIP handset. Is there a patch to fix this?
Please see if the lastest release, 6.25, has the same behavior. If so, then please submit a correction: http://nmap.org/book/vscan-community.html#vscan-submit-corrections http://insecure.org/cgi-bin/submit.cgi?corr-service This is how the service database gets improved over time.
