in regards to the snmp scripts that nmap offers. do they all rely on version 1/2? i have been scanning subnets today and noticed ALOT of the snmp agents i have run across require version 3. they won't even talk to the new snmp scripts i fire at it. version 3 has more overhead with support for bulk requests and higher authentication levels as opposed to just a public string. is there an option in these scripts to resort to version 3 or are they hardcoded for 2? an example of my scans: nmap script outbound:{ SNMPv2c { GetRequest(82) R=16729 (the rest truncated) server response :(source IP omitted) >>192.168.0.16.65475: { SNMPv3 { F= } { USM B=17 T=725207 U= } { ScopedPDU [|snmp]} } _______________________________________________ Sent through the dev mailing list http://nmap.org/mailman/listinfo/dev Archived at http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/
