I noticed that instead of using the SVN protocol, we could take advantage of the fact that the SVN files are being served over HTTP(S). Or, perhaps, automatically download the SVN tarballs from the unofficial github.com repository? Looks like there could be quite a few ways we could walk around supporting SVN.
