Dennis, Thanks for your bug report. We always strive to make Nmap portable whenever we can, and we do actively support Solaris as a platform. However, our efforts on Solaris are primarily geared towards the GCC compiler. If you would like to take some time to hunt down a solution to the problems you cited, we would be more than happy to accept a patch and credit you. To help you get started, it looks like you have a problem with an incompatible C++ stdlib. Can you try with -library=stlport4 as this link [1] suggests?
