Improvement and enhancement of NCRACK

Hello developers and Merry X-MAS

I was just surfing around the documentation of nmap and got to read about
the NCRACK and I feel if enhanced and debugged, it can be turned into a
strong tool for bruteforcing passwords , as I haven't seen much activity
over it and site also suggests that better to use NSE , is there any scope
of usability if improved?
