And I'll just throw in, if Shmoocon doesn't motivate you to get stuff
done then its a lost cause! I always come back buzzing with ideas and
not enough time in the day to get them all going.

Hi all,
??? I find myself sitting, listening to security podcasts (which in and of
itself is not bad) and playing desktop tower defense. I have tons of ideas
for new videos and articles but can't get myself motivated to start on them.
What do others do to stay motivated and keeping focused? I'm looking into
nootropics, but am a bit skeptical.

I'd recommend taking a break and doing something different for a
while. I get it occasionally with various sports I do, I go from being
really psyched to just going to train because it is what I do that
night of the week. At that point I drop training down to a minimum and
go do something else for a while. After a bit something will trigger
my interest again, usually a video or hearing about some new kit
they've got and feel I want to go join in again so go back usually
with more motivation than before and training a lot harder.

If you are going to use drugs to keep you going then you really need
some time away from it.

We'd all miss the videos but I bet the ones you produce when you come
back will be better than the ones you'd make half heartedly at the
moment.

Robin
