Yes you do. You'll also need the CCNA Security if you end up going for the
CCNP Security cert. I've found the combination of Cisco Press books, CBT
Nuggets, and labbing things up works well.

Russell,

Thank you for replying. Do I need CCNA as a prerequisite to get my CCNA
Security certification? What books would you recommend to prepare for
this certification?

Thank you once again.

I used the Cisco Press book to prepare for this exam, combined with
hands-on. Hands on practice, even in a lab or emulated environment, is
absolutely key if you want to get good at Cisco security. I have my CCSP
and 0 for 2 on the CCIE security lab so far, and I wouldn't be this far
along without lots of time spent in the IOS breaking things :-)

Hi,

I want to start specializing in Cisco Security certifications. Does
anyone have a good book to recommend to prepare for this certification?
My work experience is mostly in the assessments area concentrating on
OS and networks. I am not a network admin though however I do
understand the underlying technologies/protocols.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
