Ok, with that being said, we reach a point without direction... Where do we go from here?... Besides internal options within one's own company, who and where are the mid to sr level hacking classes?
hmm... solutions? does anyone here know of or sponsor a course themselves that goes beyond "click here to crash IIS..." intro courses?
Okay, I'm gonna throw in here. A few of the Blackhat/DefCon attendees from this past July discussed a similar issue, and thus began our project. So, it seems that we have a lot of hungry minds here who might be willing to pitch in on it. It is called the WATT Project, and it is to be the first web-based "War College" for network administrators. Several of us discussed the fact that MS has dumbed down the intelligence level of network admins to the point that Script Kiddies don't even need much learning to penetrate networks now. Also the fact that people are aware that there may be a vulnerability in an app, but how can they see for themselves? So, mudge, myself, and several others decided we would take it upon ourselves to build a clearing house of all the information resources on the web: complete with white papers, PEN-TEST tutorials, exploit code for download, a searchable db of atack signatures, etc. However, it needs to be a community effort. So, I'm asking, anyone interested in helping out? If so, send email to: submit () watt-project org We are looking for hardware to host the project on as we speak, but we do have a donated connection, and email aliases to use. I hope to hear from people soon. geoffrey -- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Windows 2000 ...
