You may have already checked this but do you have your DNS settings correct? You may want to ping a real world "live" IP address to see if it responds. If it does I could only assume that you have a DNS resolution problem. Another area I would check is your host file. If that is fine then you need to look at any encryption methods you may be using. Example, look for open of shared mode. That's where I would start off. -Josh -----Original Message----- From: charles.tendell () us army mil [mailto:charles.tendell () us army mil] Sent: Monday, August 23, 2004 1:29 PM To: pen-test () securityfocus com Subject: interesting wireless card and linux issue ok heres the problem I have a linksys wireless router and a motorola wireless card on my laptop im running dual boot xp suse 9.1. when im wireless on windows everything works fine, howeverwhen im on suse the card detects the network and i can ping to the router its pulling an ip adress and everything on the router is set up as default with no WEP. why is it that i cannot access the internet aand how can i fix this thankx in advance ive already checked the routing tables and done the renew on the network connection in use i just cannot get to the internet Charles ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ Ethical Hacking at the InfoSec Institute.
