I any case where the client application is trusted you will inevitably find security holes.  If a cracker has the 
program/binary he/she has unlimited time and resources to bring to bear on finding weaknesses.  The client should never 
be trusted and the server should authenticate every bit of information it receives.  The client should be looked upon 
as solely a mechanism to reduce any potential turnaround time on user input errors.
