I believe that there are numerous questions associated with this legislation; in some cases it appears that the PI licensing requirement is only necessary for those who perform forensics AND give expert witness testimony associated with those forensics; in other cases that is not so clear. What I find extremely troublesome about this is will these laws be stretched to also impact let us say, an individual who is an ERD expert or a web application expert who performs as an "expert witness." Does this mean that a company offering a certification containing the word "licensed" could potentially give investigators an inaccurate sense that they are permitted to carry out investigative work while not being in compliance with this legislation? If the law requires an investigator to be licensed then such certifications may become misleading even if this is not currently the case. Regards, Jim Halfpenny
