IMO, the real problem with Live CDs - they usually don't contain particular driver for your wi-fi card, I found this for Knoppix 3.5 and my wi-fi card Intel Pro/Wireless 2200 BG, laptop IBM T42. Although, there are drivers for linux - ipw2200, I use them with Gentoo distr. Roman Shirokov Systems Administrator
Hi list! When using your live cd through a virtual machine (such as vmware), thevirtual network card is usually some kind of 'detected everywhere' model. Vmware provides a bridging functionnality, which will directly link the virtual card to the real one, whatever model it may be.
Runnint the live cd directly from boot may in some configurations, prevent the network drivers from loading correctly. if that helps... @ntonio ------------------------------------------------------------------------------Audit your website security with Acunetix Web Vulnerability Scanner: Hackers are concentrating their efforts on attacking applications on your website.
