Hello there,I am not a networking expert, but in my work as a pentester i often use arp poison attacks to intercept interesting traffic. If i recommend our customers to bind the MAC addresses of mission critical servers' network interfaces to their respective ports on the routers and switches, does that migitate most of the threat or am i missing something important?
The client side subnet. You've secured the server end, which will prevent an attacker connected to the same switch the server is connected to from hijacking on that subnet. However let's say floor 5 subnet, I simply go "heck ya, I got the ARP for ip 1.2.3.4 (which corresponds to the host fileserver.example.com). The traffic never makes it off the subnet (unless of course the attacker wants it to).
Thanks in advance for your reply. Peter.
