What do you mean by "official buy-in with upper management" Upper Management may not be aware of the ramifications of "accidental fallout". Most companies Modem Security Policy has not been reviewed since the age of the Mainframes, maybe. -----Original Message-----

Having a company approved Modem Security Policy also helps. We recommend that a few short scans be done prior to the actual scan, so that any abnormalities in PBX's, VM systems, etc are dealt with prior to the company-wide scan commencing. As I read that, I thought 'hey, they should use phonesweep and its digital magic voice recognition stuff (if the modem supports it, and I recommend doing that!) I have used it, like it, and when they finally fixed that nasty mysql going to sleep thing it actually made the 'schedule this to run at night' portion useful. Great stuff, and I wrote my own back in the early 80's and like this one much better. Anyone doing any commercial wardialing should investigate it. -- Michael Scheidell, CTO 561-999-5000, ext 1131 SECNAP Network Security Corporation Keep up to date with latest information on IT security: Real time security alerts: http://www.secnap.com/news ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This List Sponsored by: Cenzic Concerned about Web Application Security?
