Problem with "tcpwrapped" port

Hello, I have a windows machine with tcp port 21 open. But when I try to connect to it i get normal 3 way handshake and then a RST packet. I know this machine was heavily infested a while ago. Is it possible that this is some sort of backdoor ? Are there any tools to attack such ports (i.e try every source address or something like that) ?
