Technology developed by the University of Central Florida will allow new cameras that the city of Orlando plans to keep the heart of downtown under constant surveillance. [...] UCF Professor Mubarak Shah and students in the schools computer-science department created the software that runs the system. They designed it to identify individuals in a crowd, track them and identify some activities, such as running or falling. Future advancements migt detect pickpockets or physical attacks.
