Snort on DHCP

I am about to do some testing of snort on a sun Solaris  box that is serving
as nothing but a DHCP server. 
DHCP will be the primary function and IDS secondary. I need to be sure that
nothing happens to the DHCP service.

Does anybody know issues with this.
