I had both 1.8.1 and 1.8.1.p1 running find on both 4.3 and 4.4. I had a bit of trouble getting 1.8.2.beta 0 stable, but I deleted the directory and ran cvsup again, then rebuilt and that was fine as well, so apparently is just didn't like my cached compiler options. -----Original Message----- From: Michael Scheidell Sent: Sat 10/27/2001 2:36 PM To: snort-users () lists sourceforge net Cc: mikes () home com Subject: [Snort-users] RE: freebsd-4.4 stable

Build 85 OK
I installed 1.8.2 beta (Build 85) with associated rules files (also downloaded 10/26) on a PII/300 running FreeBSD 4.4-STABLE (recompiled 10/12) and snort has been
running
for 24 hours, no problems. 1.8.1-RELEASE crashes (segementation error) in from 10 minutes to a
day or
so, depending on which rules file or set of rules files I use.
yep, but runs fine for days on end on 4.3. ;-) did you use the ports type skeleton? _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
