Problems compiling snort-1.8.3 with mysql-support on SuSE 7.3

Problem #1: RPM Packets from snort.org seem to work only for Redhat Boxes (or Distributions with similar System) , due to different Filestructure of SuSE Linux. Ergo, I tried to compile Snort manually. Problem #2: ./configure --with-mysql=DIR I do not know where to find the correct directory for mysql-headers. The place where the configure-script looks for mysql.h by default is obviously wrong. Do I have to point to the Win32 directory? There is a mysql-directory with a mysql.h, but telling the script to look there results in another dead-end: it blares that it couldnt find the make_win32 makefile. Uhm, ...I dont want to compile snort for win32... Question: What is the correct package to compile, or is there an option or #define I have to change? I would be very grateful for any hints. By the way, I read that I am not the only one who encountered this problem, so probably others would be grateful, too ;-) -- GMX - Die Kommunikationsplattform im Internet. http://www.gmx.net _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
