Hi All, I have already asked the question, but Im hoping someone else sees it :) -- I managed to get the XML (aka SNML) and MySQL logging working great, what I would like to do now is do a custom SQL query against the MySQL Database and export that in XML format. Has anyone done this before, or is it even possible ? arachNIDS is offline and Max is unavailable, most of the content there is copyright to Max AFAIK, so barring getting permission from him we really can't use it. Additionally, I talked to Max about doing that (moving arachNIDS to snort.org) before he went away and he expressed disinterest in having his materials placed on snort.org, so we get to redo it. On the up side, we'll get to have a bit more quality control on the front end with the "dedicated resources" that we have working now (namely Brian and Ryan), so it's a tradeoff but a worthwhile one (the info is "owned" by the Snort project instead of a 3rd party). -Marty Steve Halligan wrote:You have received this mail because ... we need your help. Basicly, what the signature triggers on, why its important, how someone might use this issue to their advantage (aka, to dos a system, exploit it), what someone might do to mitigate this problem, how this may false, and any additional references to what references we already have.It may be hopeless, but wasn't this exactly the information that was in ArachNIDS? Is there any way to recover the hard work that Max and others did to
