verification test?

   I have my snort and mysql running. But I am unable
to see any data dumping to the snort sql database?
 What I would like to know is there a test to check
my configuration for ssl, mysql, and snort?
 For example apache has an 
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl  configtest - do a
configuration syntax test.
