I use this rule and it works fine: alert ip any 0 -> any any (msg:"Source port zero attempted";) I also noticed that on all occasions that this has been tripped, it has been because the packet is fragmented..... I do see the ICMP response from our host but the initial packet is not logged. The rule being used is alert tcp $EXTERNAL_NET any <> $HOME_NET 0 (msg:"MISC TCP port 0 traffic"; sid 524; rev;1) Can anyone point me in the right direction """ Thanks, Randy _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
