I'm in the research phase of an embedded Snort project at my company. Does anyone have any more insight on running Snort on embedded systems? What processors are used? Geoge, VIA, Transmeta, Intel? Are you using DiskOnChip or DiskOnModule? Any information you can provide on hardware configs as well as software issues will be greatly appreciated. What caused the sudden increase in RAM usage? And more to the point is there anything that can be done to reduce it's footprint a bit?
