For myself, I used SNORT v.2 and snortsnarf for the log file retrieving
and xato snort panel for running it in IDS and control it 100%. It works
very fine. If you need any extra help you can contact me.

can anyone help me with this?
i have a problem installing snort IDS on windows 2000. Im getting as far
as enabling the 2 services in a dos window. but its saying access
denied. SO when i go into the registry there is no mention of the snort
service.
