According to the specification for DHCP (I think - can anyone quote chapter and verse, and/or RFC?), 169.254.0.0/16 is reserved for DHCP clients that don't get a lease.
AFAIK and as a side-remark, this has nothing to do with DHCP, but it's what MS calls APIPA, Automatic Private IP Addressing, the link local block, cfr RFC 3330. kr= ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
