Do you have any document telling the difference between firewall and IDS.
Generally speaking, a firewall is a means of controlling, through hardware or software, what kinds of traffic are allowed into your machine or network through which specific ports. It includes the capability to block that access. An IDS is a means of observing what kinds of traffic are moving into and through your system that may be of interest for security reasons.
