RE: reading a new rule.

I still have a problem here. I want snort detect the following
signature:

POST /index.html?crap=10601855

It is in the tcp data section. How can I write a rule for it and how to
set it up and run by snort?

That's it.  I'm assuming the o (letter) is just a typo in the email.  :)

You could build the packet with a number of different packet generators.
Be warned, that if you use 'flow:' in there, a single packet won't set
it
off.
