      ifconfig eth0 up promisc

You'll need to change your startup scripts so that happens at boot.
Since
I'm not using RH, I'm not sure how to do it.

NIC configuration parameters are stored in directory
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts, in file(s) named ifcfg-ethn, where
n=number of interface, starting from 0. If two cards, usually 0 and 1
so the files would be ifcfg-eth0 and ifcfg-eth1.
