There may be more differences in the hardware and the OS setup.

Are you saying that this is the exact hardware?  Same ram, same hard disk, same cpu? same ethernet chipset?

Since FBSD and OpenBSd share some of the same kernel configuration, I assume that the kernel configs are the same?

the /etc/init.d/snort file contains the same startup options?

What about the /var/log partition, mounted the same?

What about swap partitions? same size?
